Sophia Editions is an academic publishing house based in Tampa, Florida, United States, established on July 1, 2024, and officially registered in the State of Florida under registration number L24000306364. Sophia is the Greek word for “wisdom”; the wisdom acquired when knowledge is applied effectively. Knowledge becomes wisdom when it is assimilated, transformed into a way of life, and used to make sound decisions that enable us to distinguish between what is beneficial and what is not. As Socrates himself stated in his time: “Knowledge is virtue; and only if you know can you see the good”. In this spirit, Sophia Editions was conceived as a multidisciplinary publishing initiative dedicated to scientific works across all fields of knowledge.
Founded with a strong international vision, Sophia Editions publishes and brings scientific works to a global audience, connecting researchers, ideas, and knowledge across borders. Spanish and English are its primary publishing languages, while works in Portuguese are also accepted, reinforcing its multilingual identity and growing presence in the global academic landscape.
Its Editorial Board reflects this international dimension, bringing together academics and researchers affiliated with institutions across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. This convergence of countries, institutions, and disciplines makes Sophia Editions a meeting point for scientific thought, academic cooperation, and the global circulation of knowledge.

For the selection of works, Sophia Editions uses plagiarism-detection software and external reviewers, ensuring scientific, technical, and professional rigor. All submitted manuscripts undergo Open Peer Review to ensure the quality of the content. Once a manuscript has successfully passed the review process, Sophia Editions offers three publishing plan options, allowing authors to choose the one that best suits their needs.
Sophia Editions conducts its publishing activities in accordance with applicable intellectual property laws. Authors retain copyright and grant the publisher the right of first publication. Third parties may use published content provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors of the work.
Sophia Editions publishes its scientific output on an open-access basis under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license, which permits the sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction of the material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author and that derivative works are distributed under the same license. When the intended use exceeds the permissions granted by the license or applicable law, authorization must be obtained directly from the copyright holder.

Our books are indexed in the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), Dialnet, EBSCO, and Zenodo, ensuring their global availability in open access. Peer review process

1. Reception and evaluation preliminary

Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence
Sophia Editions adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools. Authors are fully responsible for any content generated using artificial intelligence, including images. Accordingly, authors must disclose whether they have used artificial intelligence-assisted technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), chatbots, or image generators, during the preparation of the manuscript.
It is important to note that chatbots, such as ChatGPT, cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the submitted book. Sophia Editions reserves the right to verify the use of artificial intelligence and to reject manuscripts that do not comply with its ethical and originality standards.
Levels of Artificial Intelligence Use in Manuscripts
Minimal Use (0–10%)
- Description: Artificial intelligence is used solely as a supporting tool, for example, for synonym suggestions, grammatical corrections, or minor stylistic adjustments.
- Action: Disclosure is not mandatory, although authors are encouraged to mention such use to ensure transparency.
Moderate Use (11–20%)
- Description: Artificial intelligence is used to generate or reformulate specific sections of the manuscript, such as the abstract or introduction.
- Action: Its use must be disclosed, specifying the tools employed and the nature of their contribution.
Significant Use (21–40%)
- Description: Artificial intelligence makes a substantial contribution to the drafting of several sections of the manuscript.
- Action: Its use must be clearly disclosed and justified. Authors must also include a statement accepting responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the generated content.
Extensive Use (41–59%)
- Description: Artificial intelligence is involved in the preparation of most of the manuscript.
- Action: Its use must be disclosed and justified. The manuscript will be subject to additional editorial review to verify the scientific integrity and originality of the content.
Predominant Use (>60%)
- Description: Artificial intelligence is used as the primary means of drafting the manuscript.
- Action: This level of use is not recommended. Manuscripts exhibiting this degree of dependence on artificial intelligence will be rejected without proceeding to peer review.
